people, do you know who Digital Doodlebug is? if you don't, you should visit her blog and probably her shop as well. because trust me, she's pretty awesome. she was having a giveaway on her blog a little while back, where she would give you labels or stickers if you commented. well, i commented, and per the instructions, only expected 1 sheet of labels, which is grand, because printing my own labels is bloody annoying to me. she sent 2 sheets of them, plus return address labels. omg! emoticons cannot express how much i love these labels. they're perfect, frankly, and they're a wonderful quality. terrible photos because of cellphone, but they're still wonderful labels!
if you need labels for your business, you should run over to her shop right now and give her some business. ciao! ~yobo

so in case you missed it, i was in Florida for the past week or so. gladly, i'm not hideously burned (a miracle, if you know me), and i didn't die from having to go to my day job the next day. we got back sunday just before dinner. it's been humid and rainy since we left, and leaving the state didn't get me away from the humidity (my god i would die if i lived in Florida. i can't handle that kind of humidity constantly). i took 4 GIGS of photos. omg. here are a few, after editing. i like sky pix. :P
i'll save the Brevard Zoo pix for another entry. i'll save the Disney pix for another entry too. my god, that was a lot of pix. i'll let you digest. ciao! ~yobo except, we'll have to change that JetPlane to a CR-V. i'm leaving this saturday morning, and going on a roadtrip to Florida with oka-san, oto-san, and little sister.
we're going to stay in a vacation house owned by a family friend, and we're going to Disney! :D we're gonna see if we can find a good place to watch the last shuttle launch, and we're gonna go all tourist-y on the surrounding area. i totally can't wait. :D i'm bringing my camera and all it's fancy attachments too. well, i won't be bringing my fancy hoya filters. my lens is 58mm, and the filters are 52mm. buggar. (though, if you want to, you could get a pair of earrings, and that would pay for the stepdown ring... ;P ) frankly, if i'd realised the filters were 52mm when i bought them, i wouldn't have bought them. i was just so damn excited to find them at the local thrift that i didn't really even look! (that'll learn me, won't it?) we'll be bringing lots of sunscreen along, i'm sure, as i burn faster than nearly anyone i know. if you like shots of the roadside from a moving car, you'll want to follow me on the twitters by friday night. following the customary "omg, why am i awake right now?!" tweet, you'll probably be getting mostly pictures out of me. i'll be bringing my laptop along, because i'll need to empty my memory card at LEAST once a day, but i probably won't do much past unloading the pix and moving on. it's a good thing i'm getting all this walking practice at my new job! (sarcasm) oh, i'm now working at home depot, in case you didn't know. totally applied on a lark, and got hired right from the damn interview. i applied for the paint departement, but was hired into the flooring departement, and now i technically work in home dec (confusing, i know). so if you need some flooring, i'm really good at hardwood, laminate, vinyl tile, and ceramic/stone tile. don't arsk us about Missus Cake don't ask me about carpetting, because i'll look panicked and then mumble something about "where is it going?" or something. selling carpet makes me nervous as hell. O.o also, i'm pretty sure my new nickname at work is "orange glasses girl". my glasses are orange. i did not apply at home depot because my glasses were orange. i did not get orange glasses because i worked at home depot. it's just a slightly-embarrassing coincidence. oh well. i'll live, i'm sure. i'm not sure my FEET will, though. omg. all this walking is killing my feet, and sapping nearly all energy i have. anyway, as i'm out of energy, ciao! ~yobo *image from journals.worldnomads.com a list of jewelry suppliers that i like. i get quite a lot of my supplies from these people, and rather than trying to bookmark them all (my bookmarks are overflowing as is), i thought that perhaps others might like to see the businesses i frequent when buying supplies for my creations. can we call this business transparancy? probably, but that seems really high-falutin' for me, so we'll just say that i'm putting it here because these businesses are awesome, and i thought people might like to see them. this will be a bit long. so i'm putting it in a table, as that makes it easier. it may take a bit to load. sorry. ^^; and there we are! my favs from etsy! now, if anyone knows if these sellers have non-etsy sites*, i would LOVE it. i used to have a shop on etsy, but i'd like to get away from them, as they're getting worse and worse in my eyes, so if you know where to find these sellers elsewhere, please comment and say so! i'd LOVE to find them. thanks so much! ~yobo *artful market is already independent, just fyi. have you heard of it? it's this really cool place where anyone can come and relax for a while, make some friends, and talk about nearly anything. the admins are a really great couple of people, and the mods are cool too (though, i'm one, so i might be biased.). it's the board formerly known as UEF (unofficial etsy forums), but due to some crazy and unforseen circumstances, we've had to move, and we decided that our name should include as many people as possible, not just etsy refugees. to that end, i give you, The Creative Breakroom! go visit, sign up, lurk and post!
we'd love to have you. i promise, we only bite if you ask. :P ciao! ~yobo yay! new start!
for those who don't know, this is yobo from jewelry :ninja!, and this is the blog for my business restart. i started out looking for a name that would allow me to still use my beloved blue lotus (viewable on nearly everything that had the jewelry :ninja! name), but in the end, i was inspired by my twitter background and, since the flowers i'm using there look like impatiens, i decided that, since i love that particular kind of flower anyway, i should use them as my business name. the orange in the flower is because i really do love orange quite a lot, and impatiens often come in that shade, and the leaves are similarly-colored to the greens. i've yet to decide on how my jewelry will be hosted. it will either be a severely modded blogger (like shop.theplushiefoundry.com), or i will put it on storenvy.com, which is currently hosting my some of my jewelry under jewelryninja.storenvy.com . if you'd like to make my life a lot easier and reduce what i have to inventory for this changeover, you can go to EITHER j:n's etsy store or the storenvy and use the code "return30" for 30% off your total order. thanks! ~yobo |
