well, i'm mid-organized spree, as i managed to save enough to buy my Expedit when it was on sale. :D they didn't have any of the cross-brace shelves, but the way i've arranged it, i have 4 extra fullsize shelves, so i think i can alter them enough to make 2 sets of the shelves i want. but! i've got the photo studio up and i'm in love with it. would you like to see some pictures i've taken with it? i really do love it. if i said that it's Practically Perfect in Every Way, would it make you feel sick? because it would me. (^.-) if you click on any of those images, it'll take you to my flickr. and i linked it because those are all destache items. some of the items are spoken for, but a lot are not. if you'd like some of my crafty cast offs, just leave a comment on the image. i'll see it pretty PDQ.
in other news, my desk is a mess, because i'm mid-organize. i'm going through my supplies, and organizing them as i put them away. this seems to mean that i need to make a HUGE mess before it gets cleaned up. (anyone suprized that yobo makes a mess trying to clean up, stand on your head!) on the other hand, i AM getting things all put together and in the right places. so it's getting there. slowly but surely, it's getting there. also, i've inherited a HUGE cork board from ma mère, and while it has no frame along the bottom, i'm thinking i'll invent a little shelf, maybe 3" deep, so that i can have my favourite pumpkin figurines on there. then i'll hang it over my desk, so i can have 2 cork boards. 1 small one to keep works in progress hanging on, and the larger one for everything else. i think that sounds like a good idea. plus, i have a string of 4 days off coming next week, so i think i'll be getting everything prepped on my few off days until then, then get everything hung and fixed up during those 4 days. :D i'm going to have to find out if my male parental unit owns a planer or some sand paper that's not 30 years old, and squish a couple of the shelves a little, as they won't fit perfectly as-is, and then i get to make a template and trace it out onto the melamine, and then score the melamine on both sides, so that i don't shatter it when i cut into it. if i think of it, i'll take photos of the process and put a how-to up here. in the meantime, i'll be coming home exhausted from work (it's busy season for flooring, everyone wants to finish before thanksgiving/xmas/holidays), and i'll be organizing on my days off. so we'll see if i pop up anywhere but the twitters. see ya soonsies maybe! ciao ~yobo

(read that title with an English accent, yeah? ;D) suprize, suprize, yobo's trying to organize her crafty craps! (this is not really a suprize. this is Sarcasm[tm]. please laugh when appropriate.) currently, my craftiness is spread throughout 2.5 rooms (i say 2.5 as an approximation of the sum total of the parts. it may be more.). this is kind of a problem, given that my desks are in 1 room, and my craftiness is taking over a room that my desks are not in. to solve this problem, i am attempting to become ..... ORGANIZED. (yes, it deserves the capital letters. ;D) this attempt started when i discovered that i just couldn't fit all my stuff in my desks and on my shelves. yes, i have 2 desks. i have a 'regular' one, where my laptop sits, and i have an old drafting table that my printer sits on. i'd show you some pictures, but..... no one needs to see this mess. really. it's kind of stupid-gross. it's not dirty (i keep it clean), just... hideously disorganized. so i'll just show you what i want to do, ok? it'll be a much prettier scene. which would be incredibly, happily functional for me.
the problem here is... i need three hundred dollars to buy an expedit + pimp it out. that's right, $300. i'm sure you're making this face :: O,o god knows i did when i added it all up. so here's the skinny :: i could be patient, and save all that money up for a few paychecks. or you could get yourself some very nice jewelry and help me out in the process. just go to ImpatiensDesigns.com and use the code "ORGANIZED" at checkout. you'll get 30% off your order. and because of the way math works, the more you buy, the more you'd save (30% of 10 is less than 30% of 100, you see.) this coupon code will be up and usable until i have the total i need to get this project underway, so tell your friends! ciao, ~yobo i love that name. so cute! makes me think of MailChimp's monkey. he always seems so happy. other things that make me happy are photos like these :: everyone should go buy a bunch of prints, because they're super cute and make me happy. ^.^-b
in fact, you could go ahead and buy me the ones of St. Basil's, and that would make my week (possibly my month!). happee monkee is [here]. ~yobo and thank goodness today is only the 1st, because otherwise i'd be feeling pretty down in the dumps. my goal was to get everything from j-n.com over to ImpatiensDesigns.com by August. well, i have 28 more things to move. and then? i can actually start putting in only brand NEW things! :D i can't tell you how excited i am about this. now, i'm not saying that i'll have 3 or 6 or whatever new things every couple of days, because i don't have unlimited supplies and also a day job, but i'll try to keep the momentum and have at least 3 new things a week. i'll try. i might not succeed, but i'll sure try. in other news, my mom visited Sweden for 18 days for her sister's birthday, and brought back presentos (of course!). i now own a cool cast iron frog, and may i say that he makes a very good hat. but he needs a name! so, quick little contesto time! comment here and give a name suggestion or 3. if i use yours, i'll send you a pair of these in any metal you like :: so get to thinking, yeah? little froggie needs a name!
quick little contesto will go until i hear a name i like, or tomorrow night, whichever happens first. ^.^-b ciao! ~yobo it was entirely unhealthy, but i don't care because it was delicious. it was this :: and as i was making it, i got to thinking about how many people i've met who can't make french toast. so i decided i'd post a super simple french toast how-to. it's not really a recipe, because i don't measure anything, i just do it. what you need :: an egg some milk a little vanilla a wide bowl or a plate a fork 2 pieces of bread a nonstick skillet a nonstick spatula a stove a plate for the finished toast a little bit of patience
enjoy your noms, and may you have breakfasts for days. :D
~yobo i'm pretty sure they make lampwork sculpture that is composed of pure awesome. after all, they make this :: that's right, it's a glow in the dark octopus, and it's barely 2" long. that, my friends? is pure, unadulterated awesome. also, i need these hair sticks :: and when i finally get my aquarium back up, i want to have this for my bettas :: you should all go and drool over their shop and buy some cool lampworks, since i can't currently do so. [link]
ciao! ~yobo so i don't visit etsy's front page often, since i'm trying to disentangle myself from them, but i did today, because i chose the wrong line when my address bar gave me choices for "etsy.com". i'm rather glad i did. because i saw this rug :: which i love. do you think that the little heart shapes in the outermost ring were planned? because i think it's so cool. plus, they're made of recycled tshirts, which is even better, i think.
now i want a braided rug. and i would totally pay what they're asking for a rug that was made just for me. [link] <- go look at the pretty! :D ciao ~yobo in 3 easy steps.
1 - download and install Adblock Plus. 2 - add a few filters.* 3 - enjoy a less annoying twitter. *the filters - open your preferences (ctrl+shift+f), and hit "add filter" at the bottom of the dialog window that pops up. add the following filters (you'll need to hit "add filter" for each one.) :: twitter.com##span.dashboard-component-title twitter.com##UL.recommended-followers.user-rec-component twitter.com##span.dashboard-component-subtitle and not totally necessary, but it takes out the horizontal rules that would then be extraneous :: twitter.com##hr.component-spacer yes, the double # is necessary, just fyi. you're welcome, people. ciao! ~yobo p.s., switching to new twitter fixed my annoying emoticon trouble. hence i had to find a way to make new twitter less buggarific. finally! :D there are so many pictures of the zoo, we're gonna have to do it in installments. today, there will pictures of birds. because i like birds. :D omigoodness that was a lot of birds!
i hope you like the sqwakers! :D ciao! ~yobo mostly the jewelry making, hopefully. :P so i know i was supposed to post a couple posts about the brevard zoo and disney from my vacation. i've been working such weird hours at my job lately that i just haven't the time or energy to get around to editing them, sadly. i keep ending up with the swing sort of shift (like, 3-11), and then when i get home, it's almost midnight, and i'm way too tired to really think very straight, let alone spend the time editing photos. since my job is very labor intensive, i'm pretty worn out by the time i get home, both mentally and physically. and that's never really a good way to edit photos, ya know? especially since some of them have to be knitted together to get the panoramas. as for the jewelry making while sleeping thing from the title, i've started wire working again. i'm currently in the middle of making an "egyptian coil" bracelet out of goldfill wire. i also made a music note necklace a few days ago, out of a little silver wire and some left over chain. it's an eighth note, which is 1/2 a quarter note. it's incredibly lightweight, and i'm thinking of doing a whole series of little musics in silver and gold wires. they'd be pretty cute for a musical wedding, don't you think? i'm not normally one for wedding stuff, but i think these would lend themselves well. also, i've been trying to make ear cuffs (sometimes called ear vines). it's not going so well. i'm not sure if i have weirdly shaped ears or what, but i can never get the little part that holds onto the ear to work for me, though it'll work for my mom just fine. =(>_)> in other faceplant news, my twitter keeps turning the symbols > and < into the coding language for them. this makes it difficult to read tweets, since many people use emoticons in their statements (or AS their statements), myself included. i've no idea how to make it stop. this is what we call "buggarific", if you're wondering. so if you've any ideas, please let me know! i'm using the newest firefox, and i can tell you what addons i've got if it might be relevant. all my techie knowledge can't seem to save me now. :/ i will even download a NEW addon, if need be. seriously, this emoticon-addicted little monkey is desperate. but! mostly i just want to know what you think of the music notes. well, i want to know about the twitter issue too, but i'll take opines on music notes if that's what you've got. ;P :D ciao! ~yobo edit; apparantly, the image didn't work. fixed now. |
